BEU employees participate in the online meeting of "ITACA" Erasmus + KA2 project

Baku Engineering University (BEU) Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Manafaddin Namazov and Head of International Relations Department Arif Najimov have participated in Erasmus + KA2 project entitled “Organization of the Innovative Training Center (ITACA) to support the 3rd cycle Advance Education Course to face Environmental Emergency in Azerbaijan” funded by the European Union and implemented by the University of Rome Sapienza, Italy. 

Professor Luca Di Palma, an employee of the Sapienza University in Rome, Italy and the head of the current project, introduced the agenda to the participants.

Then, the tasks and responsibilities of the project, the works to be done by each partner in the current year, the purchase of the Innovative Training Center and its equipment, the preparation and registration of the "Partnership Agreement" to be signed between the project manager and partners, as well as the works to be done within the project after COVID-19 pandemic was discussed in detail. Associate professors M.Namazov and A.Najimov also made various proposals during the discussions.

The meeting was attended by Aalborg University (Denmark), University of Granada(Spain), the University of Patras(Greece), as well as  ARGUS Umweltbiotechnologie GmbH. In addition, the head of National Erasmus + office Parviz Bagirov and employee Zafar Hasanov, employees of BEU and other Azerbaijani universities (BSU, AzUAC and BANM), Sukanal Scientific Research and Design Institute, as well as representatives of Azecolab also attended the meeting.

It should be noted that the current project prepares professional engineers and researchers who can use modern technological equipment and helps them to find a quick and decent job in the labor market in the future in cooperation with the European Union and local authorities, as well as oil and gas companies in order to contribute to the strengthening of relations between the university and industry through the establishment of the Organization of the Innovative Training Center (ITACA) to support the 3rd cycle Advance Education Course to face Environmental Emergency in Azerbaijan.
