Next stage of cooperation between BEU and IDDA discussed

Shahmar Hajiyehyayev, Head of the Information Security Department of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Ilkin Azizov, Head of the Information Security Division, and Gulnar Mirhuseynova, Group Leader at the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, visited Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Meeting with the guests, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev stated that in recent years, comprehensive measures have been implemented at the university to adapt the educational process to modern requirements, enhance the quality of professional training, and optimize educational programs. In this context, he emphasized that systematic work has been carried out to transform IT-related specializations within the university's academic structure into core specializations. Yagub Piriyev also noted that necessary steps have been taken to align educational resources with international standards, emphasizing that the primary objective of the integration process is to train competitive specialists with high levels of preparation and modern knowledge and skills. The rector, stating that the cooperation established between BEU and IDDA aims to enhance students' practical knowledge and skills in innovation, startups, and digital technologies, expressed confidence that the partnership between the parties will further deepen.
IDDA representatives provided information about the projects and internship programs implemented by the organization they represent for students and faculty members of higher education institutions. It was noted that the agency is prepared to provide full support to universities in improving the teaching of modern specializations, and that joint activity prospects aim to make positive contributions to the personnel training process.
During the meeting, cooperation opportunities within the framework of the "Brain Center" project implemented by the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, which aims to increase personnel capacity in the field of cybersecurity in the country, were discussed.
During the discussions, it was decided to take appropriate steps regarding the organization of classes on cybersecurity specialization at BEU, conducting master classes for faculty members, organizing hackathons for students, and updating and adapting the curriculum and syllabi of cybersecurity and information security specializations to labor market requirements.
