About BMU Technopark

BMU Technopark is one of the first technoparks established under the Baku Engineering University and launched among higher education institutions in the country. The main purpose of the technopark is a strategic structure aimed at supporting research and development, technological innovation, entrepreneurship and innovative projects. The Technopark includes a Technology Transfer Center (TTM) and an Incubation Center.

The main areas of activity of the technopark, including TTM, are as follows:

To promote research and development activities, as well as to support academic staff working in this field, including the formulation of strategies to reduce risks;
To organize cooperation between investors, including the business world, and researchers and to ensure added value to business;
To organize promotional activities and trainings on entrepreneurship, innovation, startups, R&D and intellectual property rights;
To assist researchers, startups and entrepreneurs in obtaining valid patent documents both within the country and abroad;
To form a connection between professionals and companies and startups;
To provide incentives for the creation of new companies based on patents, intellectual property rights, licensing, academics, and to conduct market research, find initial capital or seed investment, as well as project financing, and to direct industry and universities according to their needs.

In order to effectively organize work and achieve goals, activities at Technopak are carried out in 5 modules. The areas of activity envisaged for each module are as follows:

Module 1. Awareness, presentation, education and educational services

To organize educational and promotional events;
To organize webinars, seminars, panels, forums and conferences in order to share success stories in the field of research and development;
To organize information about various programs and projects;
To prepare and distribute relevant magazines, newsletters, brochures, catalogs and similar materials;
To organize training and mentoring services on project support funds, intellectual property rights, patents and licensing, startups, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Module 2. Services aimed at benefiting from support programs

Sending national and international project and grant calls to researchers' email addresses;
Continuously informing stakeholders using the website, social media and other means;
Providing academic and technical-administrative support to researchers and companies in order to apply for national and international calls;
Supporting the preparation and writing of projects to apply for national and international grant support programs;
Organizing consulting services in the direction of developing and finding additional support mechanisms, as well as making new attempts.

Module 3. Science-education and business cooperation

Organizing research, discussions, conferences and other events to determine the expectations and needs of business or industry;
Promoting and organizing university-industry cooperation;
Organizing organizational work in accordance with the demands and needs in order to develop university-industry cooperation;
To organize research and development programs and projects with market support;
To support industrially significant research and development programs and projects;
To organize various events to present business ideas and innovation projects to industrialists.

Module 4. Intellectual property and licensing services

To provide support for awareness and publicity activities in the direction of writing patents and utility models, filing applications for the purpose of securing intellectual property;
To partner with scientific and educational institutions, patent organizations, technoparks, acceleration and incubation centers and organize support mechanisms according to needs;
To hold meetings with national and international organizations in order to support partners' patent and licensing operations, and to make relevant presentations in this regard;
To organize academic and technical-administrative support to partners in intellectual property and licensing activities.

Module 5. Incorporation and entrepreneurship services

To organize incubation and acceleration services;
To promote and organize cooperation between idea and project authors and investors;
Establish and propose mechanisms to facilitate the activities of researchers and students in starting companies;
Organize measures to increase the number of research and development-based firms and ensure their sustainability;
Ensure cooperation between research and development-based firms;
Provide income to researchers through licensing and share sales;
