Faculty of Architecture and Construction

The Faculty of Architecture and Construction was established in 2019. Education at the faculty is conducted in Azerbaijani and English.

The faculty educates a total of 821 students across 7 bachelor’s and 5 master’s programs. International students also study at the faculty.

The faculty employs 67 staff members, including 56 teaching staff and 12 technical-support personnel. The teaching staff includes not only experienced and well-known instructors in their fields within the country, but also young, dynamic professionals who have studied at various levels in Azerbaijan and abroad or have gained international experience. Some faculty members have participated in nationally significant educational projects and continue these activities.

The Faculty of Architecture and Construction is designed to train specialists with analytical thinking, the ability to work with innovative technologies, practical-oriented theoretical and applied knowledge, and the ability to apply this knowledge to solving assigned problems.

The application of innovative technologies and methods in the teaching process plays an important role in improving the quality of education. To raise teaching to modern standards, the faculty uses innovative technologies and methods as well as modern laboratories. Computers, smart boards, and other technologies available at the faculty meet students’ needs during classes and enhance the efficiency and visual quality of the teaching process. Free-use laboratories are available to allow students to access the internet independently.

The faculty’s material and technical base ensures the provision of modern engineering education. This includes classrooms equipped with technical devices and modern laboratories. In computer labs, students learn software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, 3dMAX, CAD/CAM, PRO2, ASPEN/HYSYS, and others.

The Faculty of Architecture and Construction offers programs in Architecture, Design, Decorative Applied Arts, Construction Engineering, Communication Systems Engineering, Transport Construction Engineering, and Urban Planning. Under the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning and the Department of Design, a research and design center operates. This center is one of the advanced scientific-teaching centers where creativity, technology, and aesthetic thinking converge. The main goal of establishing the center is to apply the scientific-methodological essence of concept projects of strategic importance to the country in the educational process. Students’ creative works in architecture and design are periodically displayed in Baku and Khirdalan city centers and attract attention with their creative features.

Since 2025, the Department of Design has started admitting students to the Decorative Applied Arts program. In this program, students specialize in areas such as carpet, tapestry, ceramics, metal, and glass arts.

Students in the Construction Engineering department acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Graduates of this program gain the ability to correctly read and interpret architectural and engineering plans, calculate structural load-bearing systems, understand field work principles and construction sequences, and find technical and effective solutions to real problems.

Additionally, students studying Transport Construction Engineering gain knowledge and skills in planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining transport infrastructures, including roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, and airports.
