BEU begins cooperation with Malaysia’s leading research university

The first meeting laying the foundation for future cooperation between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has been held.

The meeting was attended by representatives from both universities responsible for international relations and research activities.

Discussions focused on establishing collaborative ties between the higher education institutions, identifying areas of joint activity, and exploring mutually beneficial initiatives. The participants reviewed prospects for student and faculty exchange programs, joint research projects, scientific publications, dual degree opportunities, and the creation of academic programs. Cooperation potential in priority areas such as sustainability, engineering, and information technologies was also evaluated.

During the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that the upcoming reciprocal visits would be an important step toward strengthening the partnership between the universities. They also agreed to draft a memorandum of understanding in the near future.

It should be noted that founded in 1969, USM is one of the leading research universities in Southeast Asia. Ranked 134th in the QS World University Rankings, USM offers significant advantages for BEU in terms of new exchange opportunities, implementation of joint projects, and access to global academic networks.
