Meeting Held at BEU with Chairman of INHA University's Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership

A meeting was held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) with a delegation led by Mr. Yongrak Sung, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of INHA University of the Republic of Korea, and Mr. Cho Myeong Woo, Rector of the university.

Welcoming the delegation, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev expressed his satisfaction with the long-standing and productive cooperation between the two universities. The Rector noted that the BEU-INHA dual degree program, implemented within the framework of the "State Program for Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023" approved by President Ilham Aliyev, is one of the most successful examples of the internationalization of higher education. It was emphasized that the extension of the program — which has been in operation since 2020 — until 2030 by a relevant order of the President is a testament to the high value placed on this cooperation.

The Rector noted that the third graduation ceremony to be held the following day is an indicator of the program's sustained and successful implementation, describing this outcome as the logical result of the strategic academic partnership and long-term institutional cooperation established between BEU and INHA University. It was also highlighted that cooperation with INHA University is not limited to the dual degree program, and that further expanding ties in the areas of research, academic mobility, innovation, and digital technologies is an important priority for both universities.

Yagub Piriyev highlighted BEU's continued progress in international rankings — particularly in QS assessments — as the university marks its 10th anniversary this year, attributing this to the reforms implemented at the university in recent years, the expansion of international cooperation, and the systematic work carried out to improve the quality of education. The Rector also noted that graduates of the BEU-INHA dual degree program demonstrate high employment rates and are successfully working at prestigious local and international companies, describing this as one of the key indicators of the program's success.

Yongrak Sung, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of INHA University, characterized the successful outcomes of the dual degree program implemented jointly with BEU as an indicator of the dynamic development of cooperation. He emphasized that the program has made a significant contribution to the advancement of academic and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Korea. He also noted that the specialties taught within the program are in high demand on the global labor market, and expressed high appreciation for the work of Korean academic staff teaching at the summer schools. Yongrak Sung stated that they are interested in further expanding the partnership in new academic and scientific directions in the future.

INHA University Rector Mr. Cho Myeong Woo noted that the cooperation with BEU is grounded in mutual trust, and emphasized that the dual degree program makes a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists meeting international standards. The Rector noted that students enrolled in the program distinguish themselves through their high academic performance and level of preparation, placing them among INHA University's best students. Cho Myeong Woo expressed confidence that both universities will continue their joint efforts toward the future development of the program.

The meeting covered discussions on the existing outcomes of the BEU-INHA dual degree program, the organization of the educational process, the program's development prospects, as well as joint scientific projects, faculty and student exchange, and the expansion of cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, information technologies, and engineering.

The meeting concluded with the exchange of gifts and a commemorative photograph.

During the visit, the delegation met with program students participating in the summer school, engaging in candid conversation and expressing interest in the educational process and the experience they had gained within the program.
