Second-year students majoring in Fashion Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Construction of Baku Engineering University (BEU) have created a clothing collection titled "Kalaghayi" with the aim of preserving our national cultural heritage and harmonizing it with modern design traditions.

Created under the guidance of Naila Huseynova, a lecturer at the Department of Design, the collection combines the motifs of the kalaghayi, one of the symbols of our national heritage, with a modern fashion concept. By adding kalaghayi elements to ready-made garments, the students updated their design and created clothing samples with different styles.

A delegation consisting of faculty members from Namangan State Technical University of Uzbekistan, who are on an experience exchange at BEU, also attended the presentation of the collection. Nizami Ahmadov, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction of BEU, the faculty's staff members, and teachers from Namangan State Technical University delivered speeches at the event.

The speeches highlighted the importance of preserving national cultural heritage and keeping it alive through modern design, and noted the importance of developing students' creative potential, reinforcing their theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and expanding experience exchange between universities.

The collection reflects the ancient craftsmanship traditions of the Azerbaijani people, national values, and the modern approach of young designers. The redesign of the garments also stands out in terms of the efficient use of existing materials and sustainable fashion principles. The presentation was received with interest by the participants.

As part of the event, the delegation of Namangan State Technical University also familiarized itself with the activities of BEU's Department of Design and the Carpet Workshop. The delegation, consisting of specialists and professors in the field of fashion design, was informed about the conditions and opportunities created for teaching the decorative and applied arts specialty. The guests from Uzbekistan familiarized themselves with the organization of the teaching process at the university, the material and technical base, and the opportunities created for developing students' creative potential.
