An information session has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) for students pursuing education in the fields of information technology and engineering, in connection with the Specialised Academic Training Programme implemented under the joint collaboration of the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Defence Industry.

BEU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Hamzagha Orujov stated in his address that university-industry cooperation plays a crucial role in engineering training. He noted that programmes of this kind contribute to young people's specialisation in the defence industry and to the expansion of future career opportunities.

Osman Okur, adviser to the Minister of Defence Industry, emphasised the importance of strengthening the defence industry not only in terms of technology but also human resources. He stated that the primary objective in this direction is to unlock the potential of young engineers and transform them into professionals working on real projects. He noted that there is a great demand for qualified specialists in fields such as computer engineering, electronics, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, and artificial intelligence within the defence industry.

Osman Aksoy addressed the students in his remarks, stating that working in the defence industry is a significant opportunity for young people who wish to see their contribution reflected in important projects in the future. Working in the defence industry is not merely a profession, but also a source of service to the country and of pride. The adviser called on students to take on responsibility in this field, to participate in the country's technological development, and to become part of the defence industry.

Subsequently, Ayten Sadigova, Head of the Ecosystem Organisation and Partner Relations Department of the Ministry of Defence Industry, provided information on the admission procedures for the Specialised Academic Training Programme for the 2026-2027 academic year within the framework of the Engineering Training and Defence Industry Ecosystem Programme. It was noted that the programme encompasses the organisation of instruction based on strategic directions and real projects, as well as practical training stages at the Ministry's high-level laboratories. During the information session, students were also provided with detailed information regarding the programme's registration process, the assessment of academic performance, and the test and interview stages.
