Master's Training in "Radio Communications, Broadcasting and Television" Specialization to Launch at BEU

Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, master's training in the "Radio Communications, Broadcasting and Television" specialization within the "Radio Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering" specialty will be offered at the Faculty of Engineering of Baku Engineering University (BEU). This specialization serves the training of highly qualified engineering personnel for the fields of modern telecommunications, radio, and television broadcasting in the country, and is also included in the state classification of master's specialties.

The primary objective of the specialization is to train professional specialists in the fields of radio and television broadcasting, wireless communication systems, multimedia technologies, and modern radio engineering and telecommunication infrastructure in the era of digital transformation. The program will equip graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills to work at television and radio broadcasting companies, mobile network operators, telecommunication enterprises, research institutes, government agencies, and higher education institutions.

In the initial phase of the curriculum, students will be taught fundamental knowledge in areas such as the theoretical foundations of radio engineering, signals and systems, digital communications, the propagation of electromagnetic waves, antenna-feeder systems, radio transmitter and receiver systems, and the technological foundations of television and radio broadcasting. In the subsequent phase, students will specialize in modern wireless communication networks, digital television systems, satellite and mobile communications, software-defined radio (SDR), IP-based broadcasting technologies, network design, scientific research methods, and innovative engineering solutions.

The educational process will be organized on the basis of modern pedagogical approaches. Core elements of instruction will include Project-Based Learning, Problem-Based Learning, laboratory and simulation sessions, the use of software applications, the development of practical projects, collaboration with industrial enterprises, and research-oriented activities. This approach will enable master's students to develop both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Master's students in this specialization will be taught courses in radio engineering, digital communication systems, broadcasting and television technologies, telecommunication networks, antenna systems, microwave engineering, digital signal processing, optical and mobile communication systems, information security, research methodology, project management, and other specialist subjects. The curriculum will be structured in accordance with the requirements of the modern telecommunications sector.

Upon completion of the program, master's students will undertake industrial and pedagogical placements. During the industrial placement, they will gain professional experience by working on real projects at telecommunication and broadcasting enterprises, while the pedagogical placement will involve them in the organization of the teaching process at higher education institutions. The outcomes of the placements will also make a significant contribution to the preparation of the master's thesis and will enhance graduates' competitiveness in the labor market.
