BEU Staff Member Presents at Scientific Conference in China

A associate professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering of Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry, Turane Babayeva, has participated in a prestigious international scientific conference held in Beijing, the capital of China.

Organized by Beijing University of Chemical Technology, the conference titled "The 10th International Conference on Biorefinery and Biomanufacturing (ICB 2026)" brought together scientists, researchers, and industry representatives from various countries around the world. The scientific event featured discussions on the latest advancements in bioprocessing, bio-based product manufacturing, synthetic biology, and green technologies.

Turane Babayeva took part in scientific discussions during the conference's "Biological and Chemical Transformations" session and presented to participants the research conducted at the university in the field of "Food Waste Processing and Its Catalytic Conversion into Value-Added Products." The presentation covered studies on efficient food waste management, the application of circular economy principles, and the production of useful chemical products from waste. In addition, extensive exchanges of views were held with scientists and specialists from various countries regarding future joint research projects and collaboration opportunities.

At the conclusion of the conference, Turane Babayeva was presented with a certificate in recognition of her active participation in the scientific event.

It is worth noting that ICB 2026 is regarded as one of the world's most renowned international scientific platforms in the field of biorefinery and bioproduct manufacturing, and participation in such an event is of significant importance in terms of raising the international profile of Azerbaijani science and establishing new scientific collaborations.
