Areas of Joint Activity Defined Between BEU and NABS

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation has been signed between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the National Association of Businessmen's Society Public Union (NABS).

 

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Rector Yagub Piriyev stated that the education policy established in our country by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev plays a significant role in the development of human capital in Azerbaijan. The Rector spoke about the importance of the "State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023," approved by the relevant Order of President Ilham Aliyev, emphasizing that the dual degree programs implemented within the framework of the program play a special role in training highly qualified personnel. He noted that the dual degree program between INHA University of the Republic of South Korea and BEU, which has been in operation for more than 5 years and has been extended until 2030, as well as the cooperation established with Chinese higher education institutions in recent years, make an important contribution to training specialists in line with modern requirements.

 

Yagub Piriyev stated that university-industry cooperation is of particular importance in terms of improving the quality of higher education in the modern era, developing students' practical knowledge and skills, and training professional personnel who meet the demands of the labor market. He added that cooperation with NABS will serve to further strengthen ties between academic activity and the entrepreneurial environment, support students' innovative initiatives, and develop long-term strategic partnership relations between the parties.

 

NABS Chairman Tural Mustafayev also emphasized in his remarks the importance of establishing effective strategic cooperation mechanisms between higher education institutions and the business sector. He noted that the joint activities to be carried out within the framework of the memorandum will make a significant contribution to students' professional development, the formation of entrepreneurial skills, the training of specialists in line with labor market demands, and the expansion of cooperation ties between business representatives and young people.

 

Entrepreneurs who are members of NABS spoke in their addresses about the growing demand in the current labor market for highly qualified personnel with practical skills. They noted the significance of the cooperation established with BEU in terms of expanding students' internship opportunities, supporting innovative projects, and building future human resource potential.

 

The memorandum was subsequently signed between the parties.

 

The memorandum covers such areas as the joint organization of practical internship, professional training, and personal development programs for students; the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation mechanisms between the university and business sectors; the stimulation of innovative ideas and initiatives; the conduct of joint scientific-practical research; as well as the implementation of mentoring and professional development programs aimed at enhancing students' professional skills.

 

Following the signing ceremony, the entrepreneurs familiarized themselves with BEU's campus, laboratories, and Technopark, obtaining detailed information about the university's cooperation opportunities with the business sector, innovation potential, and applied research activities.
