Launch of the 9th BoostCamp Project at BEU
February 2, 2026
The “BoostCamp 9” project has been launched at Baku Engineering University (BEU) for students studying in information technology (IT) and electronics-related fields.
The project is organized annually during the winter holiday period and aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of young people in computer engineering, computer science, information security, information technologies, electrical and electronics engineering, mechatronics and robotics, as well as process automation engineering.
At the opening ceremony, BEU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Agasi Malikov delivered a speech highlighting the impact of the accelerated courses conducted within the framework of the project on students’ professional development. It was noted that meetings and discussions with professionals working in major companies within BoostCamp help students spend their holiday period more efficiently and choose the right direction in the IT field.
Project manager Jafar Huseyn then addressed the event. He stated that one of the main distinguishing features of the project is that the mentors are mostly senior BEU students and graduates of previous BoostCamp programs who voluntarily share their knowledge and experience. The organizing team selects final-year students and graduates with suitable technical and social skills and involves them as mentors.
It was reported that out of 200 students who applied for the 9th BoostCamp project, 86 were selected and granted participant status. During the training sessions conducted by 28 experienced mentors, practical tasks will be carried out, and at the end of the project, participants will be required to present a mini-project. In addition, various games will be organized to develop participants’ social skills and reduce mental fatigue. On weekends, IT specialists with industry experience will share with the participants their roadmaps in the field, career experiences, challenges they have faced, and the correct decisions they have made.
To date, the project has involved more than 330 young people. The graduates of the project are currently united on a single platform, supporting one another on topics such as job opportunities in local and foreign companies, internship programs, education abroad, startup initiatives, and other areas, and regularly organizing online meetings.
