BEU Team Wins Silver Medal at International Festival Held in Silicon Valley

The Azerbaijani delegation representing Baku Engineering University (BEU) achieved an outstanding result at the “Silicon Valley International Invention Festival – SVIIF 2026,” an international innovation festival held in California, USA.
BEU was represented at the festival by Sevinc Aliyeva, a SABAH staff member and university mentor, and BEU student Laman Safarli. Their project, “AINOS,” was highly acclaimed by the international jury and received a Silver Medal at SVIIF 2026.
More than 500 inventors from over 30 countries participated in the competition, with all eight projects representing Azerbaijan receiving awards. The Azerbaijani teams concluded the festival with three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. In addition, the Azerbaijani delegation received one of the festival’s special awards, the “Semi-Grand Prix.”
The delegation’s strong performance also attracted the attention of Lisa M. Gillmor, Mayor of the City of Santa Clara, and Alireza Rastegar, President of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA). They congratulated the delegation on its achievements.
It should be noted that the participation of the Azerbaijani delegation in SVIIF 2026 was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The festival featured projects covering a wide range of areas, including artificial intelligence, digital technologies, data processing, and innovative engineering solutions.
The BEU team’s significant achievement further demonstrates the international competitiveness of the university’s students in the fields of innovation and technology.
